About

When Mila Mason came to Nashville, she had a dream. But it was not her vision to become a country music star, take center stage, and stand in the spotlight. Mila Mason came to town because she wanted to be a songwriter. She wanted to create her own mark as a song crafter. She wanted to design her own pattern and her own trend in Country Music. Discovered through a friend of a friend in 1993 by renowned producer, Blake Mevis (of George Strait, Keith Whitley fame), Mevis became an immediate fan. He took her into the studio, recorded some sides and delivered them to Atlantic Records President, Bryan Switzer. Mila signed with Atlantic in 1996.

Mila’s debut album, “That’s Enough of That” was released in 1997 and featured the title cut of the same name as well as her signature song, “Dark Horse” . Her sophomore project, “The Strong One” was released in 1998 and featured the memorable single “Closer to Heaven”.

After the release of her second album, Mila was driven to concentrate on her songwriting. She departed Atlantic with the determination to accomplish just that. The decision was climacteric in her career but it was a risk she knew she needed to take for herself, for Mila Mason–the artist.

After her decision to take personal time off to define her talents as a song crafter and devote her concentration on her next project, she re-married, had her third child, and signed as a writer to Brumley Music. In the midst of this period in her life, she was offered a production budget by Mark Bright and Marty Williams. She was producing two acts at the time and knew this budget would be good for one of those acts regardless of her affiliation as their producer. She then asked that the budget be given to a group now known as Rascal Flatts. She set up a meeting and the rest was history. Thus began her career as A&R.

Mila later signed with indie label Twinbeat Records (a divison of Brumley Music Group) in May 2003. Her debut album “Stained Glass Window” was a pivotal record in her career. It featured ten songs, written and co-written by Mila. Her artistry as a songwriter and talent as a stylist was clearly evident throughout the entire album. Mila collaborated efforts to co-produce the project with Michael D. Clute, Mike Porter, and Mike Wrucke.

“Stained Glass Window” is a reflection of Mila’s soulful vocals and realistic style. It is a crystal clear demonstration of her exquisite vocal characteristic with equal parts of rough and smooth. Mila has a gift for relaying the heart of a song. She’s an honest artist in terms of what she sings. She’s an artistic songwriter who can wrap lyrics around a song to tell a story that is tangible. She has a unique way of reeling in her audience. She’s doesn’t just deliver the music, she brings her audience into her music. With every performance, with every song, it’s personal. “Stained Glass Window” — it’s personal. She’s made her mark.

Mila then had her fourth child in 2007 and had already begun a personal, creative, and professional journey into the business side of the music industry. After landing the position of Sr. VP A&R of Bleve Records, she asked long-time friends and business associates, Rob Galbraith and Ronnie Milsap to spear-head a compilation cd to benefit our police force and firefighters in North America that included George Strait, James Otto, Vince Gill among many other great artists. She then stepped into the role of Manager and VP of Faverett Entertainment. With three very promising and talented writer/artists on staff, she was set for success. She is currently at Faverett and a well respected active member of the country music business at large.
